I'm a freelance writer with a background in economic development and business, but I write on a variety of topics ranging from arts and culture to entrepreneurship.
I recently owned a communications business, ARTiculate, based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (an area that grows high tech businesses and taps Oktoberfest kegs with equal success) where I lived with my husband, Chris, and two cats, both named after favourite beers, Sleeman and Creemore.
Now, we've both closed shop on our businesses and we've headed off for new experiences in the volunteer world. Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, we're working on livelihood projects with the rural poor and tsunami rebuilding.
This blog is a take on volunteering and living in Sri Lanka.
